Is Justification a Process, or a One-Time Deal?
There are many themes common to both the Hebrew Scriptures, the Old Testament, and the Christian texts of the New Testament; chief of this for this discussion is that believers are to remain in the faith, doing the things which God commands.
Justification is the perennial argument between Protestants and Catholics. This particular writing is in response to another topic — “Purgatory.” In that conversation the question was posed, that if the doctrine of Purgatory is true, how does that relate to the sufficiency of grace “imputed" by faith in Christ? Though my response here is initially intended as a reply to a particular person, Catholics should also be familiar with the Catholic doctrine of justification.
